Frequently asked questions
Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Orange County?
Sometimes. Orange County and the City of Orlando protect trees above certain trunk diameters, and specimen trees have additional protection. Florida law also exempts documented dangerous trees from permitting with proper certification. We'll tell you which category your tree falls in before we touch it.
When should I trim before hurricane season?
Late winter through spring — roughly February to May — so the work is done before the June 1 start of the season and the tree has time to respond. We book heavily in May, so earlier is better.
Are you insured for trees over my house?
Yes, and you should ask every tree company this in writing. Removing a tree over a structure carries real liability. We carry general liability and workers' compensation, and we'll provide certificates naming you before we start.
What do you do with the debris?
Everything is chipped and hauled off as part of the job unless you'd like the chips left for mulch — some customers do. Stump grindings are backfilled into the hole by default.
